Inability to connect Hostmesgprocess

I’m unable to successfully get account balance for online transactions via hostmesgprocessor in FT. The hostinfo.cfg looks OK, which makes the error confusing.

The error message on FT says: Unable to get account information. Send failed.

The log says: Socket invalid for host interface.

Please assist. Anyone?

Send failed points out that FT server cannot connect to the FC connection details you have mapped on hostinfo.cfg.
Socket invalid for host interface goes further to confirm this. The error means that the socket is invalid. The socket consists of the details you have configured for host interface to work with.

Here is what you should do.

  1. Confirm that the connection details you have on hostinfo.cfg are correct.
  2. Telnet from FT app server to the core server using the IP and port you have specified on the hostinfo.cfg. If telnet doesn’t connect, ensure the IP is correct and ensure the port is listening n the server.
  3. Also, talk to your security guys as there could be firewalls stopping your connectivity.
